Weekend Experience

“What should I wear?”

We are more concerned about creating a place where people can connect with God and have their needs met, than about what people wear. Most people will wear casual weekend attire, so dress however you feel most comfortable, and you’ll fit right in.

“What should I expect when I arrive?”

Since we rent a facility, there are banners and flags indicating the entrance to our parking lot.  When you enter the doors, you’ll be greeted at the front door and given a program and a welcome gift. There is a cafe set up with a coffee bar and lite refreshments. Everything is free, so grab a table—relax and eat!  There are displays and literature scattered throughout the building that will inform you about the ministries of Lifehouse Church. If you need help locating the restrooms, children’s classrooms or other areas, our greeters would be happy to show you around.

“What are services like?”

When people come through our doors we want them to experience God in a life-changing way. We strive to preach God’s Word in a relevant way that will transform lives, using multimedia, dramatized sermons, and creative illustrations. We’re intentional about listening to people’s needs and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. (See our Resources Page to enjoy sample sermons, videos and media.) We also strive to create an exciting worship atmosphere where people can experience God. Our live worship band is driven by prayer and led by Spirit-filled and gifted individuals.

“What is there for my kids? Teens?”

The main priority of any family is their children. For that reason, we invest into the spiritual growth of the younger generation. We strive to create programs that are exciting, nurturing, and safe for children. During every service, we have classes available for ages 0-11 in our Kids Rock Children’s Program. These classes provide an age appropriate Biblical foundation in a fun, exciting and safe environment. We also design our adult services in such a way that parents are welcome to keep their children with them if they choose.

For those above the age of 12, our adult worship gathering is appropriate for teenagers and adults, so we do not offer a separate weekend program for teenagers. However, our youth ministry, The Underground, meets 6:30-8 PM weekly on Thursday evenings at the RCM Facility (20204 Old Forge Road Hagerstown, MD 21742) so students have the opportunity to connect with their faith and their friends.

“What other ministries are available?”

There are two main opportunities for Lifehousers to meet: at the weekend worship gatherings, and at Life Groups during the week. We encourage everyone to get involved in a Life Group so they can develop strong relationships with other believers and enjoy a more interactive Bible-study. We also have many volunteer opportunities and Bible-training classes available in our School of Ministry.

“Are you going to ask for money and manipulate me to give?”

When you come in you will receive a program that has lots of information about Lifehouse Church news and events, as well as an envelope. On this envelope, we provide a place for you to give us your contact information. Most people are leery about giving out their personal information, so we do our best to keep your information confidential. We usually will call you to thank you for coming out to our gathering or send you a quick letter. We won’t sell your info any advertising company.

If you would like to give a tithe or offering, simply put your cash or check into the envelope and leave it in the basket located at the rear of the auditorium. We don’t collect a formal offering. We believe that people don’t need to be manipulated or pressured to give if they believe in the cause to which they’re donating. For that reason, we simply set up a basket located at the rear of the auditorium for those who choose to give.
